Tuesday Microsoft announced two Security Advisories, one regarding a zero-day Excel exploit and the other regarding a problem preventing the disabling of the Windows Autorun.
They are currently investigating reports of a vunerability in Microsoft Excel that could allow remote code execution if a user opens a file specifically created for this operation. Microsoft states " At this time, we are aware only of limited and targeted attacks that attempt to use this vulnerability."
The Microsoft products that appear to be affected are: Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office 2002, Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac, Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac, and Open XML File Format Converter for Mac.
This malware has been dubbed as Trojan.Mdropper.AC. Make sure you keep those anti-malware programs up to date and scan often! Don't trust just any documents you get online either!
