Windows PC Defender; Just another Infection

Yep, here's another one we have come across. This one likes actually wasn't too difficult to remove but it's an infection all the same. Here's what it looks like....



The thing to keep in mind about these infections is that you get them from the ads placed on LEGITMATE WEB SITES. These are not being spread by P2P file sharing or by looking at porn. Web sites display ads (they get $$$ to do that) and those ads get rotated. You may visit the same web page for five days and never access one of the infected ads. Load the web page when one of those ads come up and BOOM! The ad launches a small script which installs on your computer and that is how your computer becomes infected.
