Microsoft Sued For Vista to XP Downgrade Fee's

It was just announced that a computer owner in Los Angeles, California has filed a lawsuit against software giant Microsoft in response to being charged to downgrade from the infamous Windows Vista to XP. Since the release of Vista, Microsoft has been plagued by complaints and dissatisfied customers due to the extreme amount of memory the operating system consumes as well as the issues that have arisen regarding issues with drivers.

Emma Alvarado is the brave soul taking on the market dominating entity and in court papers filed in U.S. District Court in Seattle she stated, "Microsoft has used its power to coerce OEMs, Internet access providers, and others into agreeing to restrictive and anti-competitive licensing terms for its Windows XP operating system in order to stifle competition in the market," according to Alvarado's complaint. "Microsoft did so in order to maintain, protect, and extend its market power in Vista has scorched many users and Alvarado's lawsuit is based on the fact that Microsoft has flooded the market with computers loaded with Vista that don't work properly and the user is left footing the bill to downgrade from Vista to the much more revered XP. The suite claims that one third of these computers purchased in the past two years have been downgraded due to degraded performance due to the resource sucking Vista.

Alvarado is seeking an unspecified amount in damages and is hoping to turn this in to a class-action lawsuit.
